The September Edit

I feel it’s time to get ready for Autumn, all the new ranges have launched, the weather is changing… time to update the wardrobe… Septembers edit contains the key trends for Autumn that will last.  The styles are all classics with a twist, items that look new and up to date but not so ridiculously high fashion you’ll crash into someone half your age wearing it!!!!

Starting with the floral midi dress, easy to team with boots, this Karen Millen one is in a simple to wear print, M&S also have a good one. Stick to a black or navy base to stop it looking too 70’s.

Ponchos are a great way of wearing the ‘Wide Knitwear’ trend, the boxier styles look more current, wear with fitted jeans or trousers to balance your silhouette, add a pair of over the knee boots – any heel height to finish your look.

A Victorian Blouse is the next item you need in your wardrobe. In a print or plain, with a neck tie is easier to wear than a full front ruffle.  This versatile blouse can be worn with anything, I’ve opted for a gather waisted black trouser. –  the narrowing of the trouser at the ankle is flattering, go cropped or full length. Ruffles and frills can also be found in skirts, make sure they start below the hip like this black zara one for a flattering option.

The ‘Side Tie’ is the next trend worth investing in – either in knitwear or a blouse, extremely easy to wear and very flattering on less than perfect tummies!  Combine with a higher neck like the Whistles style in the edit and look instantly sophisticated.

The ankle boot is the key boot style to wear with anything and everything.  Perfect with ankle length trousers, skirts and any length dresses.   I’ve opted for a coloured western style, but was equally tempted by the contrast coloured ones found at Kurt Geiger.

Dress wise for this edit i’ve chosen a short box shape knited style, easy to wear coming in a choice of 9 colours.  Or as a more formal option this Jigsaw dress with a gorgeous print and flattering double neckline.

Finally the head wear… a felt hat or fur pom pom will finish off just nicely…. xxxx
